Caln Township Police Department Press Release

On 17 September 2014 at about 3:05PM, a 14 year old female reported that she was approached by a subject who attempted to lure her into his vehicle in the 1500 block of Lincoln Highway in the area of the Strauss bridge. The subject is described as a male of Indian descent, approximately 40 years old, with a neatly trimmed beard and moustache. He was described to speak English but with an accent. The subject was operating a bright red, newer model sedan and approached the female two times within minutes by pulling up next to her as she walked along the highway. The victim ran from the subject on his second approach to flag down a Chester County Sheriff’s vehicle that was in the area at the time of incident. The Caln Police Department has made notification to the Coatesville Area School District as the event happened in close proximity to the main campus grounds. This incident is not believed to be related to the sexual assault that was reported on 27 August 2014. The incident today occurred while there was a significant amount of traffic on the roadway and as such, the Caln Police Department urges anyone with any information to call the Caln Police Criminal Investigation Division at 610-383-1821 or 610-383-7000.
