KHS School Profile
Welcome:
KHS is a family. We are a united team
with each member playing a crucial role in the growth, support and success of other
members. Our high expectations and nurturing atmosphere help us to develop a
strong partnership with our 536 students and their families. Traditionally this
partnership has helped us to score above average on both state and national
standardized tests. In 1993, KHS was designated as a National Blue Ribbon
School. In 2006, the PA Department of Education awarded to King's Highway the
Keystone Achievement Award for meeting PSSA achievement progress for two
consecutive years. Our staff believes that we have the greatest students on earth. We
respect our diverse population and embrace the concept that all our students can
learn and experience success. In order to ensure their learning we view the
students holistically. Our classrooms are safe havens where students have daily
opportunities for working in cooperative groups, experiencing hands-on
activities and receiving individual assistance. Through the combined
efforts of our staff, parents and our community, KH students will be prepared to
meet the challenges of the twenty-first century.
OUR
VISION King's Highway Elementary School provides a safe
and supportive environment which embraces mutual respect, values diversity, and
is committed to the belief that all children
can learn.
Our Mission
The mission of the King's Highway Elementary
School is to provide a quality educational program that supports the academic
growth and overall development of its students in order for them to become life
long learners as well as productive and responsible members of our society.
